William Hoy “Bill” Braham, 71, of Tunnelton, passed away September 7, 2023 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown with family by his side. He was born January 3, 1952 in Manown, a son of the late Paul Kenneth and Beulah Katherine (Bishop) Braham Day, who survives of Manown. His wife of 32 years, Melinda Ann (Poland) Braham survives. They were united in marriage October 29, 1990.
Bill was a Vietnam veteran having served in the US Army, and also served in Germany. He was a coalminer for thirty plus years working at several local mines. Bill enjoyed woodworking and spending time in his garage, he could make just about anything with his own hands. He enjoyed birdwatching, porch sittin’ and just being outdoors.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by: siblings, Judy Saxberg and Arnie, of North Dakota, Neal Braham and wife Barb, Clinton Braham and wife Pat, and Rex Braham, all of Manown; Shirley Teets and husband Benny, of Tunnelton, Alice Haney and husband Jeff, of Idaho; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by: one brother, Charles Braham; his step father, Hank Day; his father and mother in law, Harrison F. “Hezzy” Poland and Paula E. (Wiles) Poland.
Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, WV, on Tuesday from 11am until the time of service. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the funeral home. Rev. Ray Frankhouser officiating. Interment at Mt. View Cemetery, Tunnelton.
