Robert Sanders Obituary

Robert Lynn Sanders, 75, of Tunnelton, West Virginia, died Saturday, November 20, 2021, at his home.

He was born in Madison Run on September 17, 1946, son of the late Jacob Junior and Mary Elizabeth (Donovan) Sanders.

After graduating from Rowlesburg High School, Robert served in the Marines.  He then earned his teaching degree and went on to teach math and science in multiple schools in Preston County.  He was owner/operator of A-Cubed, Inc. of Fairmont, formally Valley Lounge.  Robert truly was a lifelong learner.  He enjoyed time with family and friends, working Sudoku puzzles, keeping up on current events, and putting his various skills to work at his building on Route 92.  Robert was curious by nature and liked to know how things worked and enjoyed watching things grow.  He was a character full of wit and had a great sense of humor.

He is survived by his son and spouse, Robert Lynn Sanders II and Patricia, and a grandson, Sheldon Sanders all of Reedsville; a brother and spouse, Gary and Linda Sanders, of Altoona, Alabama; a sister and spouse, Sandy and Jim Weaver of Clearwater, Florida; a sister, Mary Kay Dean, of Rowlesburg, West Virginia; a sister-in-law, Shirley Sanders, of Parma, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.  He also leaves behind many friends that will greatly miss his company.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Randall and Blanche Sanders; a brother, Allen Sanders Sr.; a sister and brother-in-law, Lucy Uldine “Cindy” and Timothy Rossetti; and a brother-in-law, Clinton Randolph “Randy” Dean.

A private service and burial will be held on December 20, 2021, at the WV National Cemetery, Grafton with Military Rites.
