Richard “Dick” Adams, 90, of Tunnelton died Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born May 5, 1930, in Aliquippa, PA, a son of the late Mamie (Shannon) Adams Haddix.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He served four years in the US Navy and was a lifetime member of VFW Post 826 in Kingwood. He retired after working for the local Carpenter’s Union #604 and had been a fireman and engineer for the B&O Railroad out of Cumberland, MD. Dick enjoyed working newspaper crossword puzzles, playing with his beagle, Lexi and was a Pittsburgh Steeler and WV football fan.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Julene Sigley Adams; three sons, Scott and Kirk Adams, both of Ravenna, OH and Derek Adams of Streetsboro, OH; four daughters, Tammy Adams, Rhonda Holmes and Kelli Thompson, all of Ravenna and Cindy Eagle of Tunnelton, seven grandchildren, Ronnie Holmes, Larry Holmes, Dylan Eagle, Mason Eagle, Haley Eagle, Devin Adams and Brittany Adams and several great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashleigh Adams and two sisters, Dortha Nickerson and Ruby Sharp.
Friends may call at the Browning Funeral Home in Kingwood on Friday, August 7, 2020 from 2 to 7 pm the funeral hour with Pastor Randy Cobun officiating. Masks and social distancing are requested.
In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made, in Dick’s memory, to Heat for Preston, 203 Tunnelton Street, Kingwood, WV 26537.
Browning Funeral Home is assisting the family with a cremation service.
