Martha Jean (Brady) Shamblin, 84, of Terra Alta, WV, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. She was born on January 22, 1942 in Weston, WV, the daughter of the late Harrison and Edith Lemoine (McCray) Brady.
Jean was the sweetest angel, and the best Grandma and sister anyone could ask for. She was always in a good mood and loved to spend her days coloring, playing with the kids, and watching soap operas. Jean will be fondly missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.
Jean is survived by her caretakers for 47 years, Doug and Betty Metheny; their children, Leslie and Jeff Bolyard, Chris and Tabby Metheny, Kim and Brad Stemple; brother, David Brady; sisters, Morgan Nathan, Rebecca Brady, Sharon Brady; two nieces, Teri Lockhart, Karen Dennison; nephew, Charles Yeager; close friends, Christine Smallwood and Dave Hollada.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William Brady, Emerson Brady, Jim Brady; sister, Anne Yeager; and her caretakers, Carlton and Laura Metheny.
