Leonard Jackson Obituary

 

Leonard Ray Jackson, 67 of Kingwood died Friday, January 22, 2021 at Mon Gen. Hospital, Morgantown with his family by his side.

 

He was born January 26, 1953, in Corinth, a son of the late John C. and Theada Lantz Jackson.

 

He worked as a security guard at Alpine Lake, loved to fish and play board games with family.

 

He is survived by his son, Jason Verbonitz and wife, Sue of Terra Alta; his brother, James Jackson of Kingwood; his twin sister, Linda Shockey of Summit Point and sister, JoAnne Connor of Valley Point; five grandchildren, Jenny, Justin and Rebecca Verbonitz, Alisa Hillary and Lora Lothry, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 

He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Jo Verbonitz, four brothers,  Louis Lantz, David Lantz, John E. Jackson and Jerry Jackson  his sister, Dorothy Bickford.

 

Friends may call at the Browning Funeral Home in Kingwood on Sunday, January 24, 2021 from 12 noon to 2 pm the funeral hour with Reverend Ray Frankhouser officiating.  Interment will follow in the Terra Alta Cemetery.

 

The family would like to give special thanks to Madonna Dilsworth for her friendship and care of Leonard.

 

Masks and social distancing will be observed during the visitation and funeral.
