Elizabeth Sisler, 84, of Kingwood died December 22, 2020, at Mon General Hospital.
She was born November 3, 1936, at Snyder’s Crossing, a daughter of the late Joseph George and Vira Turner Peach.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, canning and farm life. She served as secretary and treasurer of the Kingwood VFW, Post 826; volunteered for Kamp Ambulance, Community Action, the brownies, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. She was a Sunday school teacher at Beatty Methodist Church and a member of Kingwood Christian Fellowship, was active within the Whetsell Settlement Community, worked at the Kingwood Civic Center and later as an in-home caregiver with the Preston County Citizens Center.
She is survived by her children, four sons, Harry Sisler and wife, Brenda, Bob Sisler and wife, Candi and a son in-law, William Helmick, all of the Whetsell Settlement and Larry Sisler; two daughters, Kathy Higgins and husband, Dave of Davis and Mary “Midge” Sisler; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Bill and Kathy Helmick and their children, Olyvea and Remington; Eric Helmick and daughter, Maddie; Sam and Melissa Helmick and daughters, Emma and Lexi; Jason and Amanda R. Sisler and children, Wyatt, Chloe and Levi; Amanda D. Sisler, Justin “Buzzy” Bolyard, Hannah Sisler, Jeremy Sisler and Katie Griffith and fiancé, Travis Walls and their children, Kaylee, Bella and Laikyn; her siblings, Lilly McCoy, Josephine Plum, Sherry Thedford, Linda Noss, Sandy Everly and husband, Bob and Clyde Peach.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Harry Lee “Bud” Sisler, Sr.; a daughter, Karen Sisler Helmick; a grandson, Bryan Bolyard; a great grandson, Owen Helmick; her sister, Debbie Thomas; brother and sister in-law, Tom and Ruby Peach and four brothers in-law, Carl Thedford, Randy Plum, Happy McCoy and Bob Noss.
Friends may call at Browning Funeral Home in Kingwood, on Sunday, December 27 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and on Monday, December 28, 2020 from 10am to 11 am the funeral hour with Reverend Mike Harriman officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
