Brenda Joyce (Reckart) Turner

Brenda Joyce (Reckart) Turner, 83, of Kingwood, WV, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2026. She was born on March 11, 1943 in Kingwood, daughter of the late Warren and Mary Ethel (Sell) Reckart.

Brenda was a member of the United Methodist Church of Kingwood and had sung in the choir, a member of the Red Hat Club and Quota Club, Treasurer of the Senior Center, and had served on the board for Main Street Kingwood. Brenda had worked as a salesperson at JC Penney’s. She was also the manager of Kingwood Parks and Recreation, which included the Craig Civic Center and the Kingwood Pool, where she was affectionately known as the “Pool Lady.”

Brenda will be greatly missed by her family, friends and community.

Brenda is survived by her sons, Richard “Rick” Turner and wife Sherea, of Kingwood, Russell Turner, of Morgantown; two grandchildren, Brianna Turner, of Kingwood, Matthew Maier and wife Carma, of Reedsville; one brother, Andrew Reckart and wife Mary, of Bruceton Mills; one sister, Nancy Reckart, of Bruceton Mills; and several nieces and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Wade Turner; three sisters, Peggy Sypolt, Carol Waugerman and Polly Broughman.

Friends and family will be received at the Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price St., Kingwood, on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 4pm to 7pm and on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 11am until the 12pm funeral hour, with Pastor Marvin Frankhouser officiating. Interment will follow at Parnell Cemetery.
