Sarah Virginia (DeWitt) Marcy

Sarah Virginia Marcy, 87, of Kingwood passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at Preston Memorial Hospital.

She was born January 28, 1931, in Kingwood to the late Earl Gay and Letha Uphold DeWitt.

Sarah was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She worked at the Snack Bar at Preston Memorial Hospital for many years and enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking and loved caring for her grandchildren. She also was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church.  

She is survived by three daughters, Sally Wilson of Tunnelton, Kathy Marcy and husband, Robert Wingrove of Connellsville, PA and Jeanette Statler and husband, Robert II of Chardon, OH; her sisters, Sylvia Clark and husband, Robert of Kingwood and Barbara Stevenson of Tunnelton; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Marcy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Junior Marcy, two daughters, Kitty Marcy and Vicki Thorn, six brothers, Harold, Gay, Robert, Carlton, Dayton and Garfield DeWitt; a sister, Gladys Braham; an infant sister, Molly DeWit tand her son in-law, William Wilson II.

Friends may call at the Browning Funeral Home in Kingwood on Thursday, March 22 from 4-8 pm where funeral services will be held at 1 pm Friday, March 23, 2018 with Pastor Ernest Metheny officiating. Interment will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery.
