Helena Britton Miller, 89, of Howesville, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at the Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins after a short illness. She was born January 5, 1917 in Howesville, the daughter of the late Waitman and Isa Shaffer Britton. She had attended the Assembly of God Church and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. A loving mother and grandmother, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by one son, Thomas Miller of Tunnelton; two daughters and a spouse, Shirley Thompson of Parsons and Betty Cooper and husband Jimmy of Reedsville; twelve grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon C. Miller on September 6, 1988; two sons, Charles Miller and Joe Miller and four brothers. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, August 25 at the Browning Funeral Home, 201 East Main Street in Kingwood. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 26 in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend David Spence officiating.
