Dorlene Marie Teets

Dorlene Marie Teets, 89, of Kingwood passed peacefully at Preston Memorial Hospital with family by her side.

She was born April 11, 1929 in Rodamer Community, a daughter of the late Daniel Bailey and Ethel Daisy Lee Layton.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. Dorlene was a bookkeeper for Western Auto, Clyde Haney Sunoco and Various trucking companies.

She is survived by her son, Edward C. Teets, Jr. and wife, Brenda of Kingwood, two brothers, Joe Layton of Terra Alta and Ronald (Mike) Layton of Herndon, VA; four sisters, Eileen (Sadie) Johnson of Terra Alta, Pauline Wilson and husband, Jerry of Oakland, MD, Wanda Hardesty and husband, Geno of Terra Alta and  Teresa Feather and husband, Ron of Culpepper, VA; her grandson, Joseph Teets and wife, Cortney of Kingwood; two great grandchildren, Allyson and Bryson Teets and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Carl Teets, Sr.; three brothers, Ercil, Donald and Jerry Layton and one sister, Linda Lantz.

Friends will be received at Browning Funeral Home in Kingwood, on Wednesday, September 5, from 6-9 pm were services will be held at 11am on Thursday, September 6, 2018 with Pastor Paul Rebelo officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mike Schwarzenberg, Pine Ridge and Preston Memorial Hospital for all the loving care given to Mrs. Teets during her illness.
