Charles Verbonitz, 78, of Kingwood, died Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born November 23, 1927 in Goodman, PA, the son of the late Matthew and Lucy Vocorac Verbonitz.
He retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways and was a veteran of the Korean War. A loving father and grandfather, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching football.
He is survived by two sons, Steve Verbonitz of Terre Haute, IN and Charles Verbonitz, Jr. of Bruceton Mills; two daughters. Mary Ann Verbonitz of Kingwood and Lucy Mae Friend and husband Alan of Terra Alta; one sister, Mary DeBartolome of Pennsylvania and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Yvonne Verbonitz and seven brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. till 11:30 a.m., Friday, September 8th at the Browning Funeral Home, 201 East Main Street in Kingwood. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Terry Cumberland officiating. Burial will follow the service in the West Virginia National Cemetery at Pruntytown. Grafton VFW Post # 3081 will accord Military Graveside Honors.
