Burgess Lee Waybright, Jr., 78 of Terra Alta, formerly of Pasadena, MD, passed away Friday, August 2, 2019 in Kingwood.
He was born August 4, 1940, in Rowlesburg, a son of the late Burgess Lee Waybright, Sr. and Myrtle Nice Waybright.
Lee graduated from Rowlesburg High School, Class of 1958. After high school he worked for Bethlehem Steel in Sparrows Point, MD for 39 years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1456 in Glen Burnie, MD. After retiring and moving back to West Virginia Lee spent many hours volunteering at the Szilagyi Center for the Rowlesburg Revitalization Committee. He was a Methodist by faith.
Lee is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gloria Evans Waybright, a son, David Lee Waybright and Kim Wills; a daughter, Marcia Ann Waybright; his grandchildren, Kenneth Clingenpeel, Jr. and wife, Shendel, Micheal Clingenpeel and Kaitlin Waybright; his great-grandchildren, Ian Clingenpeel, Leah Clingenpeel and a third little angel on the way and his three sisters, Florence Trenum, Betty Stemple and Mary Catherine Phillips.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Straley and Delbert Waybright.
Honoring Lee’s wishes, Burke Funeral Home in Rowlesburg provided cremation services. A memorial service will be held at the Szilagyi Center in Rowlesburg at 2 pm Saturday, August 24, 2019 with Pastor Kevin Keplinger officiating.
